Error when opening workbooks

Hello,

A colleague of mine have saved a workbook in BW 7.0 using SAP GUI 710, patch level 5 and Excel 2007. The workbook was saved as an XLS-file (not xlsx).

When opening the workbook on my computer using SAP GUI 710 patch level 8 and Excel 2007, I immediately get the error message "A critical program error has occurred. The program will now terminate. Please refer to the trace for further information." I can successfully open queries.

We also has access to a Citrix server with SAP GUI 710 patch level 5 and Excel 2003. Neither I nor the consultant who created the workbook are able to open the workbook here. We get the same error message as I get on my PC.

Any ideas why we get this error message?

Where can I find the trace mentioned in the error message?
